Participation of Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian in the meeting of the Special Commission on Parliamentary Monitoring and Control over the Implementation of the Reintegration Policy of the Republic of Moldova

On March 3, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian participated in the meeting of the Special Commission on Parliamentary Monitoring and Control over the Implementation of the Reintegration Policy of the Republic of Moldova, at which the impact of the current energy situation on the population of the localities in the Security Zone and the measures to ensure sustainable access to energy resources were considered. The progress of the process of connecting some localities in the Security Zone to the energy infrastructure of the right bank of the Nistru River was also assessed, in order to increase their energy security.
During the meeting, representatives of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies, the Ministry of Energy, „Moldovagaz”, „RED-Nord”, „Premier Energy Distribution”, „Energocom” and the delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission provided updated information on the measures taken and the challenges that exist, emphasizing the need to consolidate efforts to resolve technical and legal issues related to the supply of electricity and natural gas to the Transnistrian region and the perimeter of the Security Zone.
In the context of the discussions, the authorities' commitments to identify, in accordance with the objectives of the country's reintegration policy, the optimal solutions to ensure the energy needs of citizens in the localities affected by the energy crisis since the beginning of this year were reiterated.
