Participation of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration in the presentation of the book reflecting military operations in Dubăsari

On January 31, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian took part in the presentation of the second edition of the book „O viziune din focarul conflictului de la Dubăsari” („Prut Internațional” Publishing House) written by Vlad Grecu, a member of the writers’ unions of Moldova and Romania, a participant in the war on the Nistru River.
In his speech at the presentation ceremony, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian expressed, on behalf of the Government of the Republic of Moldova, words of gratitude to war veterans, some of whom were the author’s comrades in arms, who were present in the hall. „We did not lose this war. It was a betrayal of victory,” said the Deputy Prime Minister, referring to scenes of resistance by combatants and residents of the left bank of the Nistru River described in Vlad Grecu’s book.
Vlad Grecu qualifies the events which took place on the Nistru River as an aggressive war of the Russian Federation against the Republic of Moldova, which is also evidenced by the presence of the 14th Russian Army on the territory of Moldova and its direct participation in battles using tanks and service weapons.
The event was hosted by the National Library of Moldova and moderated by the director of the institution, Mrs. Elena Pintilie. The presentation brought together writers, historians, political scientists, students, schoolchildren of the theoretical lyceum „Mihai Eminescu” of Dubăsari, including veterans of the war on the left bank of the Nistru River – the main characters of the book. As noted by the author and editor-in-chief of the Prut International Publishing House, as well as the writer Moni Stănilă, the second edition of the book was prepared in the context of the war in Ukraine.
