Participation of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration to the public debate „Progress of the Republic of Moldova on the path of European Union accession negotiations”

Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian participated today in the public debate „Progress of the Republic of Moldova on the path of European Union accession negotiations”.

The interlocutors discussed topics such as the process of accession of the Republic of Moldova to the European Union, the implementation of reforms, the level of security cooperation with EU countries, partnerships and expertise in the European integration process, but also the reintegration of the country.

In his speech, the Deputy Prime Minister reiterated the importance of foreign partnerships in order to increase our country's capacity to withstand the challenges it faces. He mentioned that the EU is, along with Ukraine, Romania and the US, a key partner in the country's reintegration process. Referring to the negotiation process with Tiraspol, Oleg Serebrian acknowledged that it is stagnating, but that „we are moderately optimistic that things will recover in the near future”.

The event took place within the Eastern Partnership Plus project, funded by the German Federal Foreign Office and organized by the German think tank Zentrum Liberale Moderne in cooperation with the Foreign Policy Association and the Expert-Grup analytical center in the Republic of Moldova.
