The participation of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration in the works of the Forum for the Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova

On April 11th, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Oleg Serebrian, participated in the proceedings of the Forum for the Reintegration of the Republic of Moldova, an international-level event that brought together officials involved in the settlement process of the Transnistrian conflict, as well as experts and researchers interested in the subject.

In his speech, during the panel dedicated to key priorities on the political agenda of the reintegration process, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian emphasized that, with the onset of military hostilities in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, the security architecture is different, which has implications for the resolution of the Transnistrian conflict.

Oleg Serebrian emphasized that due to the fact that the genesis and origins of frozen conflicts in the countries of the Black Sea basin have common prospects for integration into the European Union and many common elements, an integrated approach to all these conflicts is necessary.

From the perspective of a candidate state in the process of accession to the European Union, taking into account the process of resolving the Transnistrian conflict, the constitutional authorities are open to an additional platform of dialogue with representatives of Tiraspol in order to establish constant communication on the processes of European integration and benefits for the population on both banks of the Nistru River.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian noted that the subject of open and sincere dialogue is of interest to both Chișinău and Tiraspol as a way to maintain and develop a climate of predictability and mutual understanding of processes with a positive impact on the residents of both banks of the Nistru River.
