Personal reception of Mihail Ermurachi in the Government

On March 18, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian met with Moldovan citizen Mihail Ermurachi a resident of Tiraspol, during a personal reception of citizens.

Mihail Ermurachi was illegally detained by the Transnistrian security structures for more than 2 years and 2 months for so-called „acts of extremism”, which, as it turned out, were simple criticism of the local alleged leaders.

The situation of this citizen, as well as the situation of other persons subjected to repressive measures by the security structures subordinated to Tiraspol, was constantly in the center of attention of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies, which took numerous actions to restore his rights and freedoms.

The release of Mihail Ermurachi on February 19, 2025 was made possible by the joint efforts of the authorities of the Republic of Moldova, the Ombudsman's Office, civil society and the country's international partners.

During the personal reception, support measures that could be offered to Mihail Ermurachi were discussed, primarily the provision of social benefits and medical care in connection with the deterioration of his health, which occurred as a result of the illegal detention in deplorable conditions to which he was subjected in the Transnistrian region.

Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian and the Bureau for Reintegration Policy will continue to use all available means to effectively resolve other individual cases of illegal detention.
