The second meeting of healthcare experts in 2023 took place in Tiraspol

Today, July 6, 2023, at the Tiraspol office of the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova, the second meeting of this year of experts from both banks of the Nistru River within the healthcare working groups took place. The first meeting took place on February 7, 2023.

The Chișinau delegation was led by Mr. Dragoș Guțu, Director of the Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (AMDM), with the participation of representatives of the National Agency for the Regulation of Nuclear and Radiological Activities (ANRANR) and from the Reintegration Policies Bureau.

Chisinau has proposed a set of solutions to problems concerning the improvement of the level of healthcare and the quality of the provision of medical services to the residents on the left bank of the Nistru River and Bender municipality.

The case of the authorization of an X-ray tube-type radiological medical device for a diagnostic tomographic installation, imported for one of the hospital units in the Transnistrian region, was addressed. Chisinau proposed conducting an documentation-evaluation visit in place to assess the operating conditions of the said equipment in order to verify compliance with international standards for ensuring the safety of medical personnel and patients. The alignment of the Republic of Moldova with the provisions of relevant international agreements and Euratom directives, which require strict compliance with existing protocols, was emphasized.

With reference to the subject of radiological security at the "Nistru" sanatorium in the city of Camenca, the experts from Chisinau requested an investigation to elucidate the situation. It was agreed that discussions would continue in this direction.

The subject of the authorization of imported medicines by economic agents from the Transnistrian region was discussed again, the head of the Chisinau working group referring to the progress made by the national authorities by expanding the number of positions of medicines authorized for import and including them in the register national profile, which creates a positive dynamic.

The dialogue of experts on topical issues will continue in the established order.
