The situation in the Security Zone was discussed at the meeting of the Joint Control Commission

The members of the Joint Control Commission (JCC) had a working meeting on April 25, 2024 in Bender, where they addressed current topics regarding the situation in the Security Zone. Primarily, the representatives of Chișinău insisted on the elimination of the illegal posts of the unconstitutional force structures. These posts are an obstacle to the free movement of citizens and demonstrate ignorance of the principles of the Security Zone regime.

The delegation of the Republic of Moldova expressed its disapproval in relation to the training of the military contingent of the Russian Federation within the Joint Peacekeeping Forces held on April 23 at the posts located near Dubăsari, Cocieri, Bender, Fârlădeni, Hagimus. The exercises were carried out in violation of the fundamental acts of the peacekeeping mission on the Nistru River and were not coordinated with the JCC.

Regarding the „proposal” formulated by representatives of Tiraspol to locate an additional post of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces near the Dubăsari Hydroelectric Power Station on the right bank of the Nistru River, the Delegation recalled that back in 2012, the JCC made a unanimous decision to remove the issue of setting up a post in the specified location from the agenda of the Commission. The delegation of the Republic of Moldova in a statement noted the complete lack of need for such a post.

During the meeting, the JCC took note of the report of the Unified Military Command on the situation in the Zone of ​​responsibility for the previous week.
