Subjects discussed by the Joint Control Commission

At the meeting which took place on of September 14, 2023, in Bender, the delegation of the Republic of Moldova reaffirmed its firm position regarding the illegality of the posts abusively installed by the transnistrian force structures and the request to remove them unconditionally from the Security Zone. The subject was widely debated, but the principle of consensus, applied within the Joint Control Commission, did not allow the formalization of a decision in this regard.

The Chisinau delegation also addressed the incident caused on September 7th in the margin of so-called trainings of the transnistrian force structures with the use of combat ammunition. As a result, bullet marks remained on the walls of residential blocks in Râbnița, occurrences of broken windows and damaged apartments were registered.

The delegation of the transnistrian region confirmed the incident, mentioned that no victims were registered and that after additional documentation, it will present further details to the Commission.

The subject will remain in the attention of the Joint Control Commission for analysis and avoidance of cases of this kind in the future.
