Topical issues regarding the Security Zone addressed at the meeting of the Joint Control Commission

At the meeting on October 17, 2024, which took place in Bender, the Delegation of the Republic of Moldova returned to the focus of the Joint Control Commission the issue of ensuring public order and free movement in the Security Zone on the day of the Presidential Elections and the Republican Constitutional Referendum.
In response to the call of our Delegation, launched at the previous working meeting, not to prevent the smooth conduct of the election and not to block the freedom of movement of voters on October 20 of this year, representatives from Tiraspol noted that they would not allow such incidents.
As for the posts of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces, it was decided that they will operate in the normal mode.
Also, during the meeting, a report was heard on the situation in the Security Zone for the period of October 9-15, 2024, and the main topic on the organizational issue of the agenda was the approval of a new representative from Ukraine in the Joint Control Commission.
