Weekly Meeting of the Joint Control Commission on April 2, 2026
A meeting of the members of the Joint Control Commission was held in Bender.
The delegation of the Republic of Moldova drew attention to the dangerous incidents that occurred on March 30 and 31 of this year, when “Shahed”-type unmanned aerial vehicles flew over the perimeter of the Security Zone, posing a serious threat to human life and infrastructure. The representatives of Chișinău called on the Commission participants to provide an objective assessment of these incidents, which clearly destabilize and aggravate the situation within the area of responsibility of the Joint Peacekeeping Forces.
The agenda also included the issue of the press center’s activities, including the free access of journalists from the right bank of the Nistru River to the Security Zone and Commission meetings. This issue is of fundamental importance to the delegation of the Republic of Moldova, and its resolution would allow a return to the regular operating mode of the Commission.
