On May 13, 2025, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian, accompanied by Member of Parliament Artemie Cătănoi and the President of Căușeni District Alexandru Catan, paid a working visit to the Căușeni District.
The programme included visits to settlements located in the Security Zone – Plop-Știubei, Grădinița, Leuntea and Copanca – where officials held discussions with local authorities and residents. The purpose of the visit was to assess the situation on the ground and, together with citizens, identify the main challenges facing local communities.
During the meetings, the Deputy Prime Minister listened to the concerns raised by residents, which included underdeveloped infrastructure, limited access to public services, and worries about social, economic, and energy security.
“The government keeps its word: we are continuing the implementation of major infrastructure projects and the modernization of villages. In the Security Zone, we will support efforts to overcome existing vulnerabilities,” stated Oleg Serebrian during a discussion with residents of the village of Grădinița.
The Deputy Prime Minister was also informed about the progress of projects under the Programme of Activities for the Reintegration of the Country. Thus, in the settlement of Plop-Știubei, several projects have been implemented in recent years to renovate educational institutions and create recreational spaces.
The officials also got acquainted with the progress of capital construction works on the G113 road, which is an important task for ensuring transport accessibility and mobility of residents, for the implementation of which the Government of the Republic of Moldova allocated 76 million lei.
In addition, Oleg Serebrian visited the gas distribution hub in the village of Copanca. Following an on-site assessment, the Deputy Prime Minister emphasized the strategic importance of this facility for ensuring stable and reliable supplies of natural gas to the region.
This visit is part of the Government’s ongoing efforts to strengthen dialogue with local authorities and citizens living in the Security Zone, with the aim of developing sustainable solutions that contribute to regional development and the reintegration of the country.
