Border of the Republic of Moldova to be monitored according to European standards
To strengthen border security, the Government has approved an amendment to the operating framework of the National Council for Integrated State Border Management.
The project introduces a national mechanism for the continuous evaluation of how the border is managed, following the model of the European Union, and is part of the process of preparing the Republic of Moldova for Schengen standards and evaluations.
Cooperation between institutions will also be strengthened and the capacity to respond to risks such as illegal migration, human trafficking, or other forms of cross-border crime will be increased. At the same time, by applying the new mechanism, the state will be able to plan investments in border infrastructure and equipment more effectively.
The implementation of the project will increase the level of safety for citizens, helping to prevent security risks and to manage border traffic more efficiently.
