Driving licences issued by Moldova, United Arab Emirates to be mutually recognized

15 January 2025, Chișinău - The government initiates the procedure of negotiation on the mutual recognition and conversion of the driving licences with the United Arab Emirates (UAE). The cabinet of ministers has approved a decision to this end today. 

The draft envisages the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the governments of Moldova and UAE, which will simplify the process of recognition and conversion of the driving licences. In this way, the administrative formalities will be reduced and the procedures for the Moldovan citizens for the Moldovans living in the United Arab Emirates will be sped up.     

At the same time, the signing of the agreement will strengthen the bilateral relations between the two states and will support the integration of Diaspora Moldovan citizens.

Moldova has also signed treaties on recognition of driving licences with Israel, Turkey, Albania, Spain, Lithuania, France, Greece, as well as a declaration on the transcription of the driving licences with Germany.
