Energy efficiency works in Moldova to be managed through new information system

19 March 2025, Chișinău - The government has approved the concept of the Energy Efficiency Information System – SINEE, which will facilitate the management of energy efficiency works and systematize data on energy savings achieved. It will be managed by the National Center for Sustainable Energy, and all interested parties will have access to information in the field.
The system will include seven distinct information subsystems, covering energy performance of buildings, monitoring and verification of energy savings, as well as harnessing renewable energy sources in a sustainable way.
The portal will provide citizens with public data from all information subsystems and provide online access to the services offered by the National Center for Sustainable Energy (CNED).
At the same time, the centralization of energy saving data by the system will allow efficient planning of measures to increase energy efficiency and harness renewable energy sources to achieve national objectives. Thus, the system will contribute to Moldova's goal to reduce final energy consumption by 0.8% annually, as well as to lower bills of the population, public authorities and economic agents.
Last year, CNED launched the residential energy efficiency fund, which plans to renovate over half a million square meters of housing.
