Enhanced border security: Moldovan government approves implementation of goTravel AIR solution

12 February 2025, Chișinău - Moldova will apply a digital solution which will enhance the cross-border security, ensure better coordination with neighboring countries and align with international requirements in the border security and control sector.
The draft law on the ratification of the Memorandum of Understanding between the government of Moldova and the United Nations for the goTravel AIR software license was approved by the cabinet today.
The goTravel AIR software solution will ensure better access and management of data regarding passengers in the aviation sector and improve security procedures, enhancing the capacities to prevent and counter terrorism, human trafficking and other transnational threats.
GoTravel AIR is an internationally used solution which operates by collecting and automatically analyzing passenger travel data, identifying risks in real-time. The system integrates international databases, automates border checks and uses advanced algorithms for threat detection. This process enhances national security, shortens the time required for control and aligns Moldova with global standards in data management and border protection.
At present, 21 states use the goTravel AIR system in a testing phase for operational implementation, while another four states are in the operational phase.
