19 February 2025, Chisinau - The government will continue to compensate 50% of the increase in electricity tariffs for economic agents. With the expiration of the state of emergency, the Cabinet of Ministers has approved new measures that will ensure the continuity of the Electricity Compensation Program for entrepreneurs.

Support will be granted for a period of 12 months - previously, compensations were only provided for January, February and March. Additionally, the deadline for submitting requests will be extended from 10 to 30 days from the date of invoice issuance. At the same time, the criterion that required electricity expenses to constitute at least 3% of the enterprise's revenues to benefit from support will be eliminated.

The program for compensating the increase in electricity prices for enterprises has a total budget of 300 million lei, funds which will be provided by the European Union.

The program will significantly contribute to maintaining the competitiveness of enterprises in our country, so that the increase in electricity prices does not affect production costs. Thus, the business environment will be supported and the economic stability of the country will be maintained.
