Moldovan PM discusses with local public authorities from Ialoveni district

6 March 2025, Ialoveni - The support provided by the government for the modernization projects of the communities, the challenges, achievements and priorities of the authorities have been among the topics discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean and local officials of the Ialoveni district.
The PM highlighted that, in the last two years, the government had allocated, within the two editions of the European Village programme, about 230 million lei for the implementation of 57 projects in the settlements of the Ialoveni district. Thus, residents benefit from renovated community centres, energy-efficient public buildings, modern water supply and sewage systems, new halls and sports fields, etc.
“I urge you to continue implementing projects that address the most pressing problems of citizens. The future of our communities depends on the involvement of each mayor,” noted Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The mayors present at the meeting asked for support for the rehabilitation of the main road in the city of Ialoveni, the expansion of educational infrastructure, as well as for strengthening the capacities of the specialists in the town halls regarding accessing funds and managing projects efficiently.
At the same time, the prime minister said that, in the upcoming period, the country would benefit from the largest financial support package from the European Union, in the context of the adoption of the Economic Growth Plan for Moldova, which will contribute to the development of the infrastructure, energy security, improvement of medical services, implementation of reforms, etc. The prime minister said that it was essential for the projects presented by town halls to be well-founded and have a positive impact on communities.
“The government is alongside each mayor who wants to develop the community they lead. With joint efforts and development partners’ support, Moldova can become a country where people want to stay, a European country,” emphasized Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The PM ended his visit to the Ialoveni district by participating in a festivity dedicated to International Women's Day.
