Moldovan PM has meeting with President of Czech Republic

20 March 2025, Chișinău - Opportunities for expanding Moldovan-Czech cooperation and joint initiatives in fields of mutual interest have been discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Dorin Recean and Czech President Petr Pavel. The officials talked about deepening relations between the two countries in the energy sector, agriculture, environmental protection, as well as in the commercial economic sectors.
According to the prime minister, the bilateral trade is increasing, as the Czech Republic is an important market for Moldovan wines. Also, the Czech side supports Moldova through social projects and capacity-building projects for emergency interventions. Thanks to Czech support, rescuers from Moldova are better equipped for rescue missions. At the same time, the Czech Republic stays a staunch supporter of Moldova’s European path.
"We are grateful for this assistance and we will continue to work together to bring Moldova closer to the European Union and to build a safer and more prosperous future for our citizens," said Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The sides also discussed possibilities for strengthening investment relations and attracting more Czech companies interested in investing in Moldova, particularly in the fields of energy, agriculture or environmental protection.
