New CSE decisions to support people in Security Zone, ensure country's energy security

28 January 2025, Chișinău – 3 million cubic meters of natural gas will be delivered to the Transnistrian region under a loan contract due to be concluded between Moldovagaz and Tiraspoltransgaz. The agreement will be guaranteed by the European Union. The measure is necessary to maintain the critical pressure in the pipelines on the left bank of the Dniester so that the distribution network can remain functional. A decision in this regard was approved at a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations, chaired by Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
The gas volume will be returned to Moldovagaz by Tiraspoltransgaz by March 1, 2025, and if it cannot be returned in physical form, the gas will be paid for.
The CSE members decided to earmark 1.5 million lei from the government's intervention fund to local public authorities in Doroțcaia village, Dubăsari district, and the village of Fîrlădeni, Căușeni district. The money will be used to purchase fuel, electric boilers, and air conditioners needed to ensure the operation of public and educational institutions.
The General Inspectorate for Emergency Situations of the Ministry of Internal Affairs will temporarily transfer free of charge 7 electric generators to Doroțcaia town hall.
Another CSE decision concerns a compensation mechanism aimed at domestic producers in the food sector and processing industry. Compensation will also be available to economic agents who purchase electricity from a wholesale consumer or as a user in a closed electricity distribution system. The compensation request can be submitted to MCabinet/EVO as of 3 February.
