The works of construction of the M3 road Chisinau-Comrat-Giurgiulesti-border with Romania have reached a progress of 55 per cent. Prime Minister Dorin Recean today visited the construction site and found out that the project was carried out according to the schedule established.

The PM stressed that the authorities would continue monitoring the evolution of the works, in order to make sure that the standards are observed and those about 12,000 residents of the Vulcanesti town would have access to a modernized infrastructure.

„The project’s implementation will contribute to the relief of the traffic in the town, enhancement of the road safety and stimulation of the economic development of the country’s southern region and including the connection with the Giurgiulesti port will be improved,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.

The contract on the carrying out of the works of construction of the Vulcanesti town’s bypass road was signed in June 2023. Under the contract, the deadline for the carrying out of the works is February 2026.

The project is worth over 21 million euros and is financed by the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development. It includes works of construction of  embankments, sidewalks, of a bridge and a passage for agricultural machinery, as well as of sewerage and drainage systems, etc.
