Prime Minister chairs Road Fund Council meeting

24 March 2025, Chișinău - Prime Minister Dorin Recean chaired Road Fund Council meeting, where the execution report of the budget for the Program on distribution of road fund resources for national public roads for 2024 was unveiled.
According to the document presented by the State Road Association (ASD), in total, a budget of about 2 billion lei has been allocated for the maintenance and repair works of national public roads. The amount utilized for all works executed during the period from January to December 2024 is over 1.9 billion lei, which is 96.7%.
The largest portion of the sum - 1.1 billion lei - was allocated for the maintenance of national public roads. The works were carried out through 12 specialized companies Drumuri company. The measures include winter maintenance of national public roads, works on passenger stops, roundabouts, intersections and pedestrian crossings.
Also, out of the total amount, 666 million lei have been allocated for the reconstruction and repair of national public roads and engineering constructions, while over 65 million lei - spent on the execution of road design and evaluation works and land procurement.
"Infrastructure is a key pillar of sustainable economic development, and with the support of the European Union, through the 1.9 billion euro aid, we have the opportunity to accelerate its modernization. Thus, we will be able to create a solid foundation for the country's economic growth," said Recean.
Another topic of the meeting was the Activity Plan of the Road Fund Council for 2025. This year, an initial budget of about 1.7 billion lei was allocated for national public roads, with the priority being the improvement of traffic conditions in terms of road conditions and safety.
During today's meeting, the necessary funds for achieving the strategic objectives of the Mobility Strategy 2030 were also presented.
Currently, the management of the State Road Administration covers 5,963.2 km of national roads, including: 631 km of express roads, 2,005 km of republican roads and 3,334 km of regional roads.
