The projects implemented in Căușeni district with the support of the Government and European partners, as well as future priorities for the development of localities and the improvement of people’s quality of life were discussed at a meeting between Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu and mayors and representatives of deconcentrated services in the district.

The official emphasized that only through close cooperation between central and local authorities can progress be made in attracting investments to the villages and towns of our country. The Prime Minister also referred to the need to increase the absorption capacity of funds for modernization projects that will bring better services and European-level conditions.

“The needs are the same as those we encounter in many districts, and we will continue to work to ensure better roads, water and sewage in every home, modern medical services, and renovated schools and kindergartens. The achievement of these objectives depends on all of us,” said the Prime Minister.

According to the Prime Minister, in recent years the Government has made significant investments in Căușeni district. In the healthcare sector alone, over 54 million lei have been allocated for equipping the District Hospital with modern medical equipment, modernizing delivery rooms and intensive care units for newborns and mothers. A Primary Stroke Center has also been created, the emergency service has been modernized and received six new ambulances, and in six localities in the district pharmacies have been opened through the Pharmacy in Your Village program.

Through the European Village programs, approximately 20 km of water supply systems, 19 km of sewage networks and 7.5 km of street lighting have been built in the localities of the district. At the same time, educational institutions have been modernized, several road sections in the district have been repaired or are in the process of rehabilitation, and other infrastructure and energy-efficiency projects are to be implemented in the near future.

“All these projects are the result of our rapprochement with the European Union and of the cooperation between the Government and local public administration. We will continue to work together to attract more investments, to modernize infrastructure and to provide better services for people,” said the Prime Minister.

During the discussions, the difficulties faced by some localities in the district were also addressed, including the condition of certain road sectors, problems related to access to drinking water, energy infrastructure and public transport. Administrative issues and challenges in managing public services at the local level were also highlighted.
