Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine

Monday, 18 March 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission to Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM) Slawomir Pichor.
The officials discussed the activities and measures carried out by EUBAM in the context of the implementation of the Mission's Action Plan for the period 2023-2025, including assistance in the Transnistrian settlement process.
The Mission’s productive involvement in elaboration of thematic reports on the dynamics of trade and economic interaction between the two banks of the Nistru river was highly appreciated, as well as its technical assessments on customs and fiscal issues, state border management and other aspects aimed at promoting unique standards and requirements throughout the country.
The Deputy Prime Minister stressed that in the context of the increasing role of the EU in the settlement process, EUBAM’s expertise on the fiscal-customs dimension and integrated border management is becoming an increasingly necessary one.
