Five more doctors from the Transnistrian region will be temporarily accommodated on the right bank of Nistru, in the localities where they work
Five other doctors living in the Transnistrian region, but working in medical institutions on the right bank of Nistru, have joined the program of accommodating medical staff in the localities where they work.
The doctors are from Soldanesti District Hospital and Health Centers in Varnița and Cocieri. So far, 26 doctors have voluntarily agreed to be accommodated in the localities on the right bank of Nistru, in order to be able to go to work. Their accommodation costs are covered with the support of the European Union, provided through the Confidence Building Measures Program on both banks of Nistru, and implemented by UNDP Moldova.
This temporary solution was identified as a result of the obligation imposed by the Transnistrian side to self-isolate for 14 days for anyone entering the region. Thus, the local public authorities from the Security Zone notified the Bureau for Reintegration of at least 95 people who are prevented from exercising their right to work.
Previously, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration requested the Transnistrian side to allow free movement of doctors, and after the refusal, she notified the mediators of the Transnistrian conflict settlement process and the relevant international structures.
