The reaction of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies regarding the abusive measures of Tiraspol towards the representatives of the mass media
The Bureau of Reintegration Policies has taken note of the information that journalist Elena Covalenco has been denied access to the transnistrian region for a period of 3 years. This regrettable action clearly demonstrates that Tiraspol is pursuing a different agenda from what is publicly declared, thus hindering the negotiation process. The measures taken by the unconstitutional authorities jeopardize the efforts of Chisinau and its external partners to find a peaceful and sustainable solution to the transnistrian issue. Tiraspol's abusive practices against representatives of the press and civil society, constant restrictions on freedom of movement, and other brutal human rights violations in the region can no longer be tolerated. Consequently, the constitutional authorities of the Republic of Moldova will implement legitimate measures in response, capable of discouraging such actions.
