Head of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, Alin Gvidiani in dialogue with a group of experts from the German Federal Academy for Security Policy

On September 25, 2023, the head of the Bureau of Reintegration Policies, Alin Gvidiani, had a working meeting with a group of security experts from the German Federal Academy for Security Policy.

 

The key topics of the discussion referred to the transnistrian dossier, the forms of interaction between both banks of the Nistru River, regional security in the context of risks generated by the war in Ukraine and hybrid threats, and the determined efforts made by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova to advance in the process of joining the European Union (EU).

 

Furthermore, Alin Gvidiani reviewed the activities carried out in the field of the country's reintegration policies, emphasizing that these are aimed at strengthening dialogue with external partners, expanding unified national spaces in the eastern regions of the country, ensuring the respect for human rights throughout the territory, and promoting sustainable development in the interests of the inhabitants on both banks of the Nistru.

 

The significant role of the EU, and in particular the Federal Republic of Germany, in promoting confidence-building measures in the transnistrian settlement process and in achieving the comprehensive reintegration of the Republic of Moldova within its internationally recognized borders was highlighted. It was noted that the assistance projects provided stimulate modernization and the reduction of disparities between both banks of the Nistru River.
