Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration with the Secretary of State for European Affairs of Croatia

Today, November 22, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with Mrs. Andreja Metelko-Zgombić, the State Secretary for European Affairs of Croatia, currently undergoing a working visit to the Republic of Moldova.

 

The discussions focused on the European agenda, the priorities of Chisinau in the dialogue with the European Union, regional security, including in the context of the war in Ukraine. Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian referred to the current state of negotiations regarding the reintegration of the country, to the recent visit to Chisinau and Tiraspol of Mrs. Dorota Dlouchy-Suliga, the EU's special representative in the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement, and to the expectations of the Moldovan side from the OSCE Ministerial Conference (Skopje, November 30 – December 1). During the discussion, the example of Eastern Slavonia, a former separatist region from Croatia, reintegrated peacefully after a three-year period of international transitional administration (1995-1998) was also mentioned.

The Croatian side was also represented by H.E. Mrs. Marija Kapitanović, Ambassador of Croatia to the Republic of Moldova (with residence in Bucharest).
