The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration met with the Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine
On November 20, the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian had a meeting with Slawomir Pichor, Head of the European Union Border Assistance Mission in the Republic of Moldova and Ukraine (EUBAM).
During the meeting, information about the current situation in the negotiation process regarding the Transnistrian settlement and the perspective of the Republic of Moldova's integration into the European Union was presented.
Oleg Serebrian highlighted that for over 18 years, EUBAM has been actively interacting with the national authorities and external partners on issues related to the Transnistrian issue, effectively contributing to the strengthening of trust between Chișinau and Tiraspol and to overcoming several problems faced by citizens and economic agents from both banks of the Nistru River.
The officials pointed out that ensuring transparency and security along the Moldovan-Ukrainian border as well as implementation of customs rules and practices that correspond to EU standards and the regional context will remain a priority.
