Problems of doctors, teachers and illegal installations in the Security Zone were brought to attention of the Special Representative of the current OSCE Presidency and the OSCE Office in Chisinau

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, held a discussion today with the Special Representative of the current OSCE Presidency, Thomas Mayr-Harting, and with the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Claus Neukirch, following-up the letter sent on Monday with the request to engage in ensuring unhindered access of doctors to all the Security Zone settlements, in the context of the new coronavirus COVID-19 pandemic.

 

The parties discussed the current situation in the Security Zone, especially regarding movement of doctors, situation of teachers from the schools teaching in Romanian on the left bank of Nistru, but also installation of control posts by the Transnistrian side on the Cocieri plateau.

 

In their response, the OSCE representatives informed about the need to consult with the World Health Organization on pandemic mitigation measures and to identify other situations in the shortest possible time. At the same time, they mentioned that they will conduct discussions with Tiraspol on this topic. It was agreed to continue the exchange of information and data on the monitored topics, under working regime.
