Teachers from the Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region withdrew their June salaries being assisted by the Bureau for Reintegration
2020.09.07, Cosnita - Employees of the Romanian-teaching schools in the Transnistrian region received their June salaries this week, despite the unilateral traffic restriction imposed by Tiraspol on all the people crossing the administrative line.
The last group of teachers from the Theoretical High School "Stefan cel Mare si Sfint" from Grigoriopol were transported today to Cosnita to withdraw their salaries. Throughout the week, teachers from all 8 schools were assisted by the Bureau for Reintegration to get to the ATMs, while respecting the epidemiological rules.
We would like to remind that the initial deadline for the pseudo-quarantine set by the Transnistrian authorities was 1 May this year, subsequently extended until 15 May, followed by a new extension until 15 June. A new entry/exit regime for the region was introduced on 15 June, with the deadline up to 30 September. People crossing the administrative line were forced to self-isolate for 14 days. Subsequently, the so-called passage permits issued for various groups of people were canceled.
In addition, 37 checkpoints have been illegally installed around localities on the left bank of Nistru, that are subordinated to the constitutional authorities. This prevented about 48,000 inhabitants from traveling to their own agricultural lands or for vital needs.
These illegal checkpoints are listed as "sanitary posts", but in reality, they are additional illegal posts with border guards.
The Bureau for Reintegration considers that these actions contravene to the commitments made under the Berlin Plus Package, as well as to freedom of movement for individuals and officials.
