The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, had a meeting today with the Country Representative of the World Health Organization, Igor Pokanevych.
The parties discussed access to medical services, evolutions and trends of the Covid-19 pandemic, WHO’s recommendations for the Transnistrian region, assistance provided through epidemiological products and equipment, and perspectives for collaboration.
We would like to remind that on 6 May, after the WHO’s visit to the region, recommendations were provided to avoid the Covid-19 spread on the left bank of Nistru.
Previously, several trainings for medical specialists from both banks of Nistru were organized with the contribution of the WHO Office in the Republic of Moldova.
Currently, over 18,000 people from the Transnistrian region are assigned to the medical centers on the right bank of Nistru, and over 12,000 people receive subsidized medicines.
The officials also exchanged views on the self-isolation of the Transnistrian region, access to the region, free movement, and the epidemiological situation.
