Free movement of doctors, patients and students from the Transnistrian region to the institutions from Rezina was the main subject of the field visit of the Deputy Prime Minister, Cristina Lesnic
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, performed a visit to Rezina, where she spoke with the local public administration, with the teachers from the Theoretical High School "Olimp", and with the doctors living in the Transnistrian region, who chose to be temporarily accommodated in Rezina due to movement restrictions imposed by Tiraspol.
Representatives of the Rezina district hospital spoke about the Covid-19 pandemic challenges and about the movement difficulties in the Security Zone. "We pay special attention to the population from the left bank of Nistru who do not benefit from quality medical services and high-performance equipment. Every year, about 100 women from the Transnistrian region come to give birth in Rezina, and up to a thousand patients are treated for hepatitis, infectious diseases and cancer. However, I did not imagine that we, the doctors, would end up in a situation when we would not have access to our jobs to help the people. There are 21 doctors and nurses from the Transnistrian region working at the Rezina district hospital, and now we have a shortage of human resources. We chose to be accommodated and we are grateful, but absence of the family is having a psychological impact", said the Director of the district hospital, Mrs. Postu.
The Deputy Prime Minister, Cristina Lesnic, informed that the possibility to accommodate and provide daily allowances for doctors from the Transnistrian region, who work on the right bank of Nistru, has been extended until the end of September. At the same time, were examined several possible solutions that would facilitate free movement of doctors on both banks of the Nistru river, including organized transportation and testing for COVID-19 every few days, so they could reunite with the family and loved ones.
The needs of the hospital were also discussed, with special reference to investments in thermal insulation of the building and change of carpentry, which would ensure comfort of the patients and energy efficiency. The hospital administration stated that they will participate in the call for projects to be financed from the reintegration fund.
Cristina Lesnic also visited the High School “Olimp” from Rezina, where 24 students from Rybnita and other localities are studying. The organization of the educational process starting September 1st was discussed. The high school chose the Model #1 for 28 classes and the hybrid Model, with physical and online presence of students, for 2 classes, as proposed by the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research.
In order to ensure attendance of classes by students from the Transnistrian region, the Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration, Cristina Lesnic, established a communication mechanism with the administration to prepare all formalities with Tiraspol. "The Bureau for Reintegration will take the necessary steps to establish the movement of students and their companions even in conditions of Transnistria’s self-isolation", said Cristina Lesnic.
On the other hand, the high school administration informed that they have concluded the procurement procedures in the amount of 500 thousand lei, within projects financed from the Country Reintegration Action Program, that foresee full repair of the festivities and sports halls.
