Free movement of students from schools teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region was discussed in a meeting with the administration of these educational institutions
Ensuring good conditions for studies and free movement of students and teachers from schools teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region was discussed in a joint meeting of the Bureau for Reintegration and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Research (MECR), with the participation of the administration of these educational institutions.
The situation of the eight schools teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region and the difficulties they face, which require involvement of the Bureau for Reintegration or the MECR, were tackled during the meeting.
“The Bureau for Reintegration has made sustained efforts for these schools to start the study year in conditions similar to the institutions on the right bank of Nistru, given the pandemic and the need to comply with all anti-epidemiological regulations”, said the Head of the Bureau for Reintegration, Marian Gherman.
At the Bureau’s request, the OSCE Mission to the Republic of Moldova was also involved in the process by periodically documenting the movement of students and possible incidents.
The representatives of the Bureau monitor the situation in the field, they keep daily contact with all schools’ principals from the left bank of Nistru and are well acknowledged with their situation. They are also involved in solving individual cases that are communicated to the Bureau.
The meeting took place online and the principals of educational institutions had the opportunity to exchange views on other topics of common interest.
