Meeting of Deputy Prime Minister with Ambassador Paun Rogovei

On Monday, February 19, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian had a working meeting with Ambassador-at-large Paun Rogovei, responsible for the Transnistrian file within the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine. Tomorrow, the Ukrainian diplomat will leave Chisinau for Brussels, where he will hold a round of negotiations with a number of European high-ranking officials, including Mrs. Dorota Suliga, the EU Special Representative in the negotiation process on the Transnistrian settlement.

During the discussions, Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian and Ambassador Rogovei touched upon several topics related to the current state of the Transnistrian settlement and the steps that Chișinău intends to take in the near future. Oleg Serebrian confirmed Chișinău's firm commitment to avoid escalation of tension and to find solutions to all problems exclusively through peaceful means. At the same time, it was emphasized that the Moldovan Government will not renounce its actions aimed at gradually integrating the Transnistrian region into the constitutional field of the Republic of Moldova.

Today, after a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian, Ambassador Paun Rogovei will go to Tiraspol, where he will discuss with Vadim Krasnoselskii.
