Meeting of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian with the Special Representative of the OSCE Chairperson-in-office for the Transnistrian Settlement Process, Thomas Mayr-Harting

On March 11, 2024, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian held a working meeting with the Special Representative for the Transnistrian Settlement Process of the OSCE Chairman-in-Office Thomas Mayer-Harting, accompanied by the Head of the OSCE Mission to Moldova, Ambassador Kelly Keiderling.
The discussions were focused on the current situation in the dialogue between Chișinău and Tiraspol, topical issues on the agenda, Chișinău’s approaches to them, the Government's priorities in the field of reintegration policies, planning a visit to the Republic of Moldova of the OSCE President-in-Office, the Maltese Minister of Foreign Affairs.
It was emphasized that issues related to the external commercial activities of economic agents from the Transnistrian region and the authorisation of imports of various categories of goods, including medicines and radiological equipment, will be resolved on the basis of the requirements established by the legislation in force of the Republic of Moldova and the goal of the reintegration of the unique economic space.
The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration reiterated that in the dialogue with Tiraspol it is necessary to constantly raise the issue of human rights in the Transnistrian region, the positive resolution of high-profile individual cases (for example, V. Pleșcanov), as well as to obtain free and secure access to the region for journalists from the right bank of the Nistru River.
