The working groups for the development of car transport and road infrastructure conducted their first meeting in the current year

The first meeting of the working groups for the development of car transport and infrastructure development in the current year has been convened on February 22, in a videoconference format, with the participation of experts from both banks of the Nistru River.

The subject of the proper functioning of the vehicle registration points in the cities of Tiraspol and Râbnița was discussed. The need to streamline their activity and increase the level of service/documentation of a larger number of applicants and vehicles was expressed. The experts from Chisinau called for maintaining a constructive and depoliticized approach from Tiraspol in the process of obtaining neutral type registration plates, with the implementation of technical solutions and in accordance with the working normative framework.

The problem of the veracity of the information presented to the subdivisions of the Public Services Agency in the process of applying for national model driving licenses by drivers domiciled in the Transnistrian region was also in the spotlight, The experts from Chisinau reiterated the need to provide confirmatory evidence and correct data, respecting the rigors in the sphere of personal data processing.

Also, the issue of the mechanism for payment of compensations and documentation of road accidents produced in the context of holding autovehicle civil liability insurance policies was addressed, with the reiteration by Chisinau of the necessity to comply with the requirements established by the national legislation in force and the requirements in the field of reference.

During the meeting, the topic of proper management of the bridge that crosses the Nistru river near the town of Dubăsari was discussed. The experts from Chisinau reiterated the positions presented at the January 20, 2023 consultative meeting (https://gov.md/en/content/consultative-meeting-experts-field-road-infrastructure-was-held-chisinau) with the mention that the critical and damaged state of the bridge requires taking immediate measures to limit the permissible tonnage of transport units and their movement speed, keeping the distance between vehicles, in accordance with the rigors prescribed in the technical expertise.

Similarly, on the subject of the proper servicing of the bridge infrastructure across the Nistru River, the experts from the right bank requested the immediate start of the repair and maintenance works of the bridge between the towns of Rezina and Râbnița.

The dialogue of the experts will continue in future meetings that will be coordinated in the established manner.
