Working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Serebrian to the Briceni district

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian accompanied by the Member of Parliament Efimia Bandalac, the representative of the territorial Office of the State Chancellery and the representatives of the Reintegration Policies Bureau made a working visit to the Briceni district on Tuesday, May 16.

 

The dialogue held with the representatives of the local public administration and public services at the level of the Briceni District Council tackled aspects aimed at their good functionality and the ways of solving the urgent problems the said institutions face, as well as elements aimed at ways of developing the localities of the district.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister encouraged the mayors and representatives of the Briceni District Council to be proactive in the process of establishing partnerships with European actors to identify and implement community development projects.

 

Oleg Serebrian also mentioned the need to intensify cooperation and dialogue between central and local public authorities for a better management of current issues of the communities.

 

The Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Oleg Serebrian also visited the Theoretical Lyceum in the village of Corjeuți, where he held a discussion with the teachers and students of the district. During the dialogue, the essential role of the European Union in the process of sustainable development of the Republic of Moldova was noted.

 

The final destination, according to the agenda of the Deputy Prime Minister Serebrian, was the documentation visit to the international crossing point of the state border "Briceni - Rosoșani", where he discussed with the representatives of the General Inspectorate of the Border Police and the Customs Service about the functional processes in the visited border crossing point, the ways of support, as well as the negative effects of the war in the neighboring country of Ukraine on the overall situation.

 

During his visit to the Briceni district and the discussions held in the territory, Oleg Serebrian highlighted the fact that Chisinau is determined to continue the process of peaceful settlement of the Transnistrian conflict, with the unconditional preservation of the strategic objective of European integration, maintaining a continuous synergy between the two.

 

Moreover, the Deputy Prime Minister urged all the participants in the dialogues he held to show solidarity on May 21 and participate in the "European Moldova" National Assembly either in Chisinau or at the district level, so that the wishes and voice of the citizens for the strategic vector of European integration of our country could be expressed.
