Working visit of the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian to the Cahul district

On May 4, at the invitation of the mayor of Cahul, the Deputy Prime Minister for reintegration Oleg Serebrian paid a working visit to the city.

In the headquarters of the city hall, the Deputy Prime Minister gave a public lecture on the topic "The security situation of the Republic of Moldova and the Black Sea basin in the context of the existing hybrid threats".

In his speech, Oleg Serebrian revealed the importance of granting the status of a candidate country to EU accession to the Republic of Moldova, as well as the prospects of our country in a context of unstable regional security.

During his visit, Oleg Serebrian also visited the "Bogdan Petriceicu Hasdeu" State University in Cahul, the "Atlant" sports complex, met with representatives of the local administration, decentralized services, and talked with a group of Ukrainian refugees.

The Deputy Prime Minister took note of the existing problems of the district and urged the authorities to actively participate in establishing mutually beneficial partnerships with European actors for the residents of the region, implementing community development projects and increasing the capacity to assimilate external funds to create decent living conditions for the citizens of the Cahul district.
