Moldovan government announces schedule of events dedicated to Day of Memory and Gratitude

28 February 2025, Chișinău - The activities of commemoration of the heroes who died in the armed conflict from 1992 on 2 March will start at 10:00 with the laying of flowers at the monument to Stephen the Great. Attending the event will be President Maia Sandu, Parliament Speaker Igor Grosu and Prime Minister Dorin Recean.
At 10:20, the three leaders will join the veterans of the Transnistria War in the Memory March. The column will be created on the Great National Assembly Square (PMAN) and will go by foot to the Grieving Mother monument, with a serviceman bearing the flag in front of it and a Military Band. They will be followed by students from the Police Academy, who will bear the portraits of the heroes who died in battles, military, representatives of the Fulger Special Brigade and the General Inspectorates of Carabineers. We invite citizen to join the march in the starting point on PMAN.
A mourning rally will be held at the Eternity Memorial Complex as of 11:10. And a national moment of silence will be kept at 11:30. After the speeches, the participants in the event will lay flowers at the Grieving Mother monument and the former fighters will be invited to a soldier’s lunch.
