Coordinated control to be implemented at state border crossing point Giurgiulesti - Galati

Chisinau, Nov 6 - Traffic at the state border Giurgiulesti - Galati will be simplified and fluidized. The Cabinet of Ministers today approved the decision to initiate negotiations and approve the signing of an agreement between the Moldovan and Romanian governments on coordinated control at Giurgiulesti - Galati state border crossing point, on the way into Romania.

The agreement will facilitate the coordination of border traffic control at the Giurgiulesti - Galati border crossing point. As a result, control procedures will be simplified and waiting times will be reduced. This will improve the cross-border flow of people and goods, enhance border security and strengthen Moldovan-Romanian cooperation.

At the same time, reducing the waiting time and coordination of control procedures will facilitate trade between the Republic of Moldova and Romania, which will contribute to increasing the volume of exports and imports, thus stimulating the national economy.

A similar agreement is currently in force as regards coordinated control at Leuseni - Albița state border crossing point.
