PM has discussions with representatives of biggest trade networks of Moldova

17 January 2025, Chișinău - The situation in the energy sector and the measures which can be taken, in order not to allow the increase in prices for the most important food products have been the principal subjects discussed by Prime Minister Dorin Recean with representatives of the biggest trade networks of Moldova.   

The PM said that the government made efforts to back the business environment and protect the national economy, including the providing, for a three-month period, of compensations worth up to 50 per cent of the increase in the tariff for electric energy.  

In the context, the prime minister urged the representatives of the networks of shops to show solidarity to the local producers and provide them with support, in order to promote native products. 

„It is important that we cooperate and protect the purchasing power of the citizens, given them access to quality products and ensure the continuity of the domestic production,’’ Prime Minister Dorin Recean said.  

At the same time, the PM appreciated the actions undertaken by the representatives of the commercial networks, in order to cut the consumption of energy.
