Meeting of the Working Group on Economy

The Working Group on Economy had an online meeting with participation of sectoral experts from both banks of Nistru, where they discussed various topics according to the agreed agenda. 

The experts made a retrospective of the implementation degree of the Protocol Decision "On the interaction in the veterinary field, quarantine and plant protection" of 15 February, 2018, and of the subsequent actions to be taken, as well as of the continued consultations on removing technical barriers on trade and protection of consumer rights.

Discussions were also held on issues related to import of certain categories of goods on both banks of the Nistru river, such as: products subject to phytosanitary and veterinary control, goods introduced under the relevant authorizations, medicines, and goods imported by individual entrepreneurs, including from the perspective of launching the final phase of joint control on the central segment of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border.

Regarding the import of goods through the railway, it was mentioned that these topics are under discussion and the dialogue between the experts on railway transportation is to be continued.

The foreign trade activity of the economic agents from the Transnistrian region were likewise addressed, being pointed out the procedures and requirements of the normative framework in force that must be observed.
