Prime Minister in talks with Moldovans settled in Belgium and Luxembourg
Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu concluded his visit to Brussels with a discussion with Moldovan citizens living in Belgium and Luxembourg. During the meeting, the internal transformations in the Republic of Moldova, which are aimed at improving the quality of life and not at bringing it closer to the European Union, were discussed.
The Head of Government spoke about the current reforms, focused primarily on economic growth. Opportunities for investing at home and government programs dedicated to return were also presented. In April 2025, the Government Return Assistance Service was launched, the Return Support Guide is available, online job fairs are organized, and the return of graduates is supported through a dedicated program. Among the additional measures planned are strengthening the capacities of local authorities to support return, developing a Guide for the inclusion of returnee children, and creating a virtual assistant for the Diaspora Relations Office.
„Regardless of distance, our community remains united by the same goal. We all want Moldova to be a good home for those who choose to live here, but also a strong state that protects the interests of Moldovans wherever they are", emphasized Prime Minister Alexandru Munteanu.
The Prime Minister appreciated the contribution of each citizen from the diaspora to promoting the image of our country: „We have a community of active Moldovans here, who are carefully following and getting involved in advancing on the development path chosen by the Republic of Moldova", the Prime Minister added.
About 15 thousand Moldovans are settled in Belgium and Luxembourg.
