The Delegation of the Republic of Moldova will continue monitoring the provision of free movement in the Security Zone

On March 6, 2025, a meeting of the Joint Control Commission was held in Bender to discuss the issue of posts of security structures subordinate to Tiraspol, illegally established in 2022 under the false pretext of an alleged „terrorist threat”.
The members of the Commission were familiarized with the findings made on the spot by the military observers from the Joint Peacekeeping Force, who reported that the main transport arteries, entrances and exits to/from settlements in the eastern districts of the Republic of Moldova located in the Security Zone were unblocked, concrete blocks were evacuated, and the accompanying infrastructure was dismantled.
The meeting considered organizational issues related to all delegations represented in the Commission.
According to the Joint Military Command's report on the situation in the Security Zone, no incidents were recorded for the period from February 26 to March 4, 2025.
At subsequent meetings, a decision will be made on the transition to the normal mode of work of the Commission. Ensuring free movement in the Security Zone will remain the focus of the delegation of the Republic of Moldova to the Joint Control Commission.
