Verification of the degree of preparation for the new year of study of gymnasiums and lyceums teaching in Romanian in the Transnistrian region

From 22 to 23 August 2024, inspections regarding readiness for the new school year were carried out in the educational institutions teaching in Romanian, renting premises in the Transnistrian region.

The inspections were carried out at the „Constantin Sucitu” Gymnasium in Corjova, Dubăsari district, Roghi Gymnasium, Dubăsari district, the „Evrica” Theoretical Lyceum in Râbnița, the „Lucian Blaga” Theoretical Lyceum in Tiraspol and the „Alexandru cel Bun” Theoretical Lyceum in Bender with the participation of officials from the Ministry of Education and Research, the National Inspectorate for Technical Supervision, the National Public Health Agency and the representative of the Bureau for Reintegration Policies.

An assessment of compliance with current sanitary and epidemiological requirements and fire safety rules has been carried out. The identified deviations will have to be eliminated in the following days to ensure that these educational institutions are properly prepared for the start of the 2024-2025 school year.

We remind that the lack of own premises for Romanian-language educational institutions in the Transnistrian region, operating on the basis of the programs of the Ministry of Education and Research, creates a less predictable educational environment and generates difficulties for both pupils and teachers.

Despite the obstacles caused by the unresolved Transnistrian conflict, the authorities of the Republic of Moldova are directing their efforts to ensuring the free movement of pupils and teachers, the delivery of textbooks, teaching materials and other means necessary for the development of a continuous, high-quality educational process in the eight Romanian-language schools in the Transnistrian region.
