Green Energy in Ialoveni: Moldovan PM visits wind turbine in Suruceni

6 March 2025, Suruceni - Prime Minister Dorin Recean has visited a wind power plant in Suruceni village, Ialoveni district, which is among the companies which had received approval to connect to the electric energy network, under a decision by the Commission for Exceptional Situations (CSE) from December 2024.
The PM emphasized the significant contribution of the renewable energy sector in managing the energy situation, the development of which is essential for covering electricity consumption and ensuring long-term energy independence.
The plant is owned by General Eco Energy Company from Suruceni and has a capacity of 1.5 MW. It was commissioned after CSE had facilitated the process of getting grid connection approvals, in order to maximize the use of available renewable electricity generation capacities.
The CSE's decision targeted 10 companies that had already installed renewable power plants, with a total capacity of 31 MW. With these plants operational, Moldova has reached capacities of generating renewable energy of 617 MW, which is more than twice the combined capacity of the thermal power plants from Chisinau and Balti.
