Moldovan government approved new measures to improve air quality

12 February 2025, Chișinău - Local and national air pollution can now be reduced. Government has approved a decision regulating the operation of two systems - National Inventory System of Air Pollutant Emissions and National Integrated Air Quality Monitoring System.

The systems will help authorities consistently monitor air quality and act to reduce pollution. The new measures will contribute to improving citizens' health, reducing acid rain and other forms of pollution.

Throughout Moldova, areas for air quality assessment will be identified, and optimal locations for the installation of automatic monitoring stations will be determined. Methods and criteria for air quality assessment will be established, as well as procedure for determining the necessary number of sampling points for monitoring air pollutants.
